Lee Whitehead,
a 32 year old, who grew up in the South West of England
in St Ives, Cornwall.
Lee grew up in and around the water and along with his
experience in sailing explains why at present he specializes
in Marine Sports Photography. In 2003 Lee became the
official photographer for Falmouth Week which runs annually
in August.
Following on from this event he was asked to photograph
a number of other sailing events and in 2004 will be
on the water shooting at 6 National / International
events and a number of regional events. Photolounge
is mainly aimed at the sailing fraternity and it's image
search facility enables sailors that compete in these
evnets to easily find and purchase images of themselves,
friends, family or boats they like.
Lee came in to photography late and it's only in the
last couple of years that he is trying to make photography
his career. Until recently sailing itself was his career,
either as an instructor, a salesman for sailing companies
or as a professional sailor. Unfortunately back problems
forced a change of plan and it was at this time he went
to Truro College to do a Foundation Course in photography.
This course opened a whole new
aspect of photography as yet untried and and it was
based on these areas that the decision to go on to University
was based. At present Lee is in his first year of a
three year degree at Falmouth College of Arts. Within
the Folio sections of this site are a sample of the
work he does for the course and also for his portfolio.
